Maitland made her debut as a studio background vocalist singing backup at the age of 7 behind the male pop star, named, George Stewart on his mid-tempo disco-flavored pop cover version of “Could You Be Loved”, originally performed by the late reggae artist Bob Marley back in 1980. At the age of 9, she sang backup with Karen West (contralto) and Theresa Joanou (artificial high soprano) behind George Stewart on the full, complete pop version of “Don’t Take The Easy Way Out”, written by Larry Santos and Carole Bayer Sager. In 1998 she released her first self-titled debut album that features inspiring pop hits, entitled, “One Step At A Time”, “Open The Door” and “Somebody To Give My Heart To” and the remodeled disco version of “We’re Gonna Make Our Dreams Come True”. That same year, she released her second album, that features inspired pop songs like “Reach Out And Touch Somebody Who Needs A Hand”, “Here Comes The Sun To Warm The Day”, and “Love Always Makes Us Young At Heart.
